KURNOOL: Yemmiganur Municipal Commissioner G Raghunatha Reddy allegedly beat up customers of Anna Canteen for not following the queue system.
The incident went viral on social media and the officials were criticised for failure to regulate the crowd at the canteen. One canteen was set up at Somappa Circle in Yemmiganur. But, it was not adequate to cope with the heavy rush of customers.
The Municipal Commissioner made a surprise visit to the canteen on Thursday to oversee the arrangements. He found fault with the customers for not following the queue system. He got angry with the ‘adamant behaviour’ of some customers and beat them up.
