VISAKHAPATNAM: The Central government will take up construction of Rs 1 lakh crore worth road connectivity projects in Andhra Pradesh alone under Sagarmala- Bharatmala and other projects.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping Nitin Gadkari announced it after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for seven projects in Visakhapatnam and other north Andhra districts with an investment of Rs 6,688 crore, along with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam on Friday evening.

He dedicated four-lane connectivity road from Visakhapatnam port to NH-16 in phase-II (length 4.15 km) constructed at a cost of Rs 100 crore and state-of-the-art facility at Essar Vizag Terminal constructed at a cost of Rs 830 crore to the nation.
