The child, Sathwik, is a native of Srikakulam and was staying with his uncle Rajendra and aunt Appayamma at Chavulamadum area for the last few months.

When the couple was busy at their hotel, Sathwik wandered outside and went missing. After the family’s search proved futile, they approached II Town Police, who, in turn, alerted the GRP.

Based on the complaint, the police checked CCTV footage, which showed Sathwik holding a soft drink bottle and going along with an unidentified man.

Around three to five police teams from Visakhapatnam along with the Odisha Police raided various places. On Sunday morning, the boy was found at Rayagada Railway Station platform, but the kidnapper was nowhere in sight.

Police say the boy was found in good health and would soon be brought to Visakhapatnam. According to preliminary investigation, there seems to be no motive behind the kidnap.

Police believe the unidentified person committed the crime in an inebriated condition and then boarded a Rayagada-bound train. However, cops have been directed to look for the kidnapper.
