VIJAYAWADA: Questioning how YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy amassed a huge wealth in a short time, Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that the Opposition Leader has no moral right to point fingers at the TDP government, which has been striving to make the State drought-proof. He also accused the YSRC chief of colluding with the BJP so as to get his frozen assets freed.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, the minister said, “The cement factory, a media house, an estate in Kadapa and a White House like building in Bengaluru are some of your assets. What were you when your father had become the Chief Minister, and what are you now (financially)? How did you amass the huge wealth?”

Devineni said that the Opposition Leader has no moral right to talk about Polavaram and other irrigation projects in the State. “You colluded with the Congress before 2014 polls to come out of Chanchalguda jail. Now, you have compromised with the BJP to protect your assets. That is why you are just parroting the words of the BJP from the script given to you,” he said, addressing Jagan.

He observed, “Neither you or your father was able to provide water to Pulivendula. Your father was a CM, your mother served as an MLA, you served as an MP, and then became an MLA. Yet, you were not able to give Krishna water to Pulivendula. But, CM Chandrababu Naidu did it,” he remarked.
