Heavy rain likely in north coastal AP

IMD warns that  heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East and West  Godavari of north coastal AP in the next 24 hours.

VISAKHAPATNAM: IMD warns that  heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East and West  Godavari of north coastal AP in the next 24 hours. On Tuesday, the southwest monsoon was normal over coastal Andhra Pradesh and weak over Rayalaseema.

In the last 24 hours, 4 cm rain was received at Nuzvid in Krishna district, Amalapuram in East Godavari, Koida in West Godavari, 3 cm at Kunavaram in East Godavari,  Mangalagiri in Guntur district, Vararamachandrapur in East Godavari, Eluru in West Godavari, Paderu in Vishakhapatnam, Tanuku in West Godavari, Tiruvuru in Krishna, Chintur in East Godavari. Further, the IMD informed that surface winds from westerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph are likely along  and off coastal Andhra Pradesh.

According to INCOIS bulletin, wave heights in the range of 3.5 to 4.1  metres are likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh. Sea condition would be rough. As a result, the fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.
