Krishna district Deputy Traffic Commissioner, E Meera Prasad, has announced that the LLR melas will be conducted in 140 villages in Krishna district from June 18 to 24.

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district Deputy Traffic Commissioner, E Meera Prasad, has announced that the Learner’s Licence Registration (LLR) melas will be conducted in 140 villages in Krishna district from June 18 to 24.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said, “We’re going to conduct the melas in 20 panchayats every day. The initiative was mooted by the commissioner for providing service to rural people.  This is a good opportunity being provided for them and we hope they will make use of it,” he said.
The applicants from gram panchayats would be required to submit their Aadhaar numbers and date of birth certificates following which the LLR test and registration would be done simultaneously on the same day. “This is being done in association with CSE centres and once they receive the applications, the details will be uploaded online immediately,” said Prasad.

The fee is fixed at `260 for motorcycle driving licence and `410 for both motorcycle and car. If qualified, the learning licence document would be issued on that day itself and it would be valid for six months. One month subsequent to the issuance of document, the permanent driving licence test would be conducted.
He also announced plans to digitise the RTA transactions. “Since we have started providing online registration in July, 2016, we have registered 3.2 lakh vehicles registered. After observing the overwhelming response, we have decided to retrospectively upload all CSFT registrations before July, 2016.

We have also started providing online mode of transactions for procurement of various other certificates,” he said. Applicants can now log on to aprtacitizen.epragathi.org for carrying out transactions such as transfer of ownership, change of address, no objection certificate, tax repayment, clearance certificate, permit etc. “If a buyer and seller have to carry out transfer of ownership, they can do it from different locations in the comfort of their homes. All these operations have been digitised,” he said.
