GUNTUR: Forum for Better Bapatla secretary P C Sai Babu has said that sea turtles perform many important tasks that contribute to the well-being of sea life and the environment. On the occasion of ‘World Sea Turtles Day’ celebrated under the aegis of the Forum For Better Bapatla at Kakumanu Social Welfare School of Bapatla in Guntur district on Saturday.
He said the turtles help keep the populations of jellyfish and sponges in check.. He said sea turtles like normal grass and sea grass. He said without sea turtles, grass beds grow into grass blades and become detrimental to marine life so grass beds provide a place for breeding and development for many species of fish.
