ONGOLE : In a swift action, the Ongole police traced the missing bag, which contained `4 lakh and restored it to the owner. The police said that Kollagunta Brahmaiah boarded a bus at LB Nagar in Hyderabad on June 20. While alighting the bus at Kurnool Road Junction on Thursday, he noticed that his bag, which contained `4 lakh, went missing from the bus. He asked the fellow passengers whether they have seen the bag and informed the matter to the conductor and driver of the bus.
The victim lodged a complaint at the taluq police station here. Acting on the complaint, Inspector Ganga Venkateswarulu alerted the police personnel in the area. The police got to know that the bag was with Peddagouravarapu Pedda Yelamanda in Martur and restored the bag to the owner. Brahmaiah thanked the police for restoring his bag within a couple of hours.
It may be mentioned here that in a similar incident, a college student lost his bag, which contained `10 lakh. The police within a short time traced the bag and restored it to him.SP Satya Yesubabu appreciated DSP B Srinivasulu, CI Ganga Venkateswarlu and SI Dasari Raja Rao for taking swift action.
