VISAKHAPATNAM: In another week, six Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) have been upgraded as junior colleges. This is in tune with the State government’s decision to start Intermediate education in select schools. Out of the 34 KGBVs in the district in the current academic year, three schools were sanctioned junior college status with MPC group and another three with BiPC by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), which operates the KGBVs.With 80 seats each in MPC and BiPC groups, KGBV students will get first priority and later students from government schools will be given admission depending on the vacancies.
