‘Sabala’ will resolve issues of women, girl students: IGP

He said the phone numbers of woman constables would be given to girl-students so that they can contact them to seek help and lodge complaints.

GUNTUR: Launching the ‘Sabala’ programme here on Friday, South Coastal Zone IGP KVV Gopala Rao has said that it is aimed at building confidence among girls and women to face eve-teasing, ragging and attacks. He said the phone numbers of woman constables would be given to girl-students so that they can contact them to seek help and lodge complaints.

He said the women police personnel, including officials and constables,  assigned to colleges and other educational institutions, would be in touch with girl-students and resolve their issues. AP Women’s Commission Chairperson N Rajakumari asked girls and women to make good use of  ‘Sabala’ to protect themselves from attacks. Guntur Rural Ch Venkata Appala Naidu directed the college/school managements to install CC cameras on their premises. AP Women’s Commission Director Suyaj, ‘Sabala’ Nodal Officer and Tenali DSP Snehita, Spinning Mills Association president Buchaiah Chowdary and others participated in the programme.
