It was in the early hours of Monday, around 4.40 a.m, Nannapaneni Nageswara Rao received a call on his mobile. Still drowsy, Rao received the call only to hear his son’s distressed voice which woke up him only to leave him shell-shocked.

After regaining from the shock, Rao, working in BSNL in the city, dialled his daughter-in-law Anusha on her mobile phone but failed to hear her voice. Instead, an unknown person answered the call and told Rao that the owner of the mobile was no more and she died in a road accident at Hospet in Karnataka. Srikanth and Anusha were travelling in a private Volvo bus from Nellore to Bangalore that met with an accident on Monday and claimed five lives. All the deceased were natives of Nellore.

Srikanth (30) was working in Bangalore. He married Anusha (24) of Maddipadu in Prakasam district in June 2013. Anusha was five months pregnant. Similar is the case of Chinnam Prasad Naidu (31). Two others, A Vijaya Kumar(32), A Pradeep Kumar(25) also died.
