At a time when doubts are cropping up in Telangana over the Congress promise to carve out a separate State, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said if it hoodwinks people, the other national party, BJP, will surely divide the State after it comes to power.

Addressing the Sakala Janula Bheri, a massive public meeting here at the Nizam College grounds, he said, “the BJP has been consistently supporting the Telangana cause. Hence, there should not be any fear if the Congress fails to keep its word. The BJP will form the T State. I thank BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and others for repeatedly backing the demand for a T State.”

Sharpening his attack on the ongoing Samaikyandhra movement, KCR once again waded into a controversy when he termed the stir “artificial” and branded all those born in Andhra and Rayalaseema “traitors.”

“Samaikyandhra movement is artificial. Telangana movement is real. There is dharma in T movement,” he claimed. Praising youngsters, who had taken part in the T stir, he said, “Youths were like lions and tigers in T movement, but the Seemandhra movement is such that they even slept on tombs and ate grass. Police constable Srinivas raised Jai Telangana slogans amongst Seemandhra people. Lions can move alone like Srinivas but rabbits cannot.”

He further said, “There are no intellectuals in Seemandhra. Seemandhra leaders say they have to beg after the formation of Telangana. It means they want United AP only to loot and eat in Telangana.” He also took potshots at YSRC chief Jagan, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for their stand on State division. “The YSRC wants equal justice to all regions. When no justice has been done to Telangana, how can the party now demand equal justice to all? Naidu took several U-turns on the issue of bifurcation. We can’t predict how many more he takes in the future. Kiran Reddy lies. The Chief Minister’s argument is not at all correct,” Rao said.

On Naidu’s demand of Rs 5 lakh crore package for Seemandhra, he thundered, “Raw deal was meted out to Telangana all these years. If at all the Centre announces a package, it should be for Telangana.” He also urged the Centre to declare Palamuru Lift Irrigation and Pranahita-Chevella as national projects. He demanded one IIM for Hyderabad and AIMS in Bibinagar and also new railway lines for the Telangana region.

He said Hyderabad should be the capital of Telangana state, comprising 10 districts, and not be made joint capital as proposed. He threatened to launch an agitation if the Congress-led UPA government deviates from its promise.
