Saying that the Congress is synonymous with corruption, Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu has said Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi commenting on corruption is akin to ‘devil citing verses’.

Taking exception to Rahul’s outburst at the conference of Congress chief ministers in Delhi on Friday, Naidu said that it was a mere act meant to deceive people of the country yet again.

Speaking to mediapersons at his residence here on Saturday, Naidu asked, “Why is Rahul Gandhi speaking of corruption now and why had he not spoken when the Augusta helicopter deal, 2G spectrum auction, Commonwaelth Games, coal blocks allotment scams surfaced? Aadarsh Housing Scam is not new and several of its leaders from Maharashtra are involved,’’ he said and also questioned Congress second-in-command’s silence over the criticisms and allegations against his brother-in-law Robert Vadra that he amassed wealth by corrupt means.

Rahul had the habit of blaming others when things got too complicated for him to handle, he remarked.

The TDP chief claimed that it was he, not PV Narasimha Rao or Manmohan Singh, who had marketed the brand image of India among the world countries for bring foreign investments.
