Ram Charan Teja’s debut Bollywood movie, Toofan, was hit by Samaikyandhra protests in Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor districts on Friday.

Except for a couple of evening shows in cinema theatres of Tirupati and some other small towns in Chittoor, the screening of Amitabh Bachchan’s hit film ‘Zanjeer’s remake, Toofan, failed to hit the screens at various other places.

The screening of the film, however, did not face any hurdles in the neighbouring Nellore district. While few cinema owners did not opt to screen the movie in support of Samaikyandhra movement, some others feared violent protests which might lead to damage to their property.

Samaikyandhra supporters are opposing the release of films belonging to actors hailing from the Union minister Chiranjeevi’s family as the latter proposed to make Hyderabad a Union Territory.
