YSR Congress Party (YSRC) has made arrangements near the RTC bus station for the indefinite fast to be launched on Monday by party honorary president YS Vijayamma protesting the bifurcation of the state.

The party has changed the venue to Guntur as the police denied her permission to launch the agitation in Vijayawada in view of the Avanigadda Assembly bypolls on August 21.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, after prolonged deliberations, confirmed that Vijayamma would launch her hunger-strike at a private place near the RTC bus station.

According to party leaders, nearly 25,000 people are expected to visit the ‘Samara Deeksha’ camp to express their solidarity with Vijayamma. Though no other leader will go on fast along with Vijayamma, it is said that the party MLAs and other leaders from the Seemandhra region would assemble at the site.

Meanwhile, the Guntur urban police are also taking all measures to see that there would be no traffic or law and order problem in the city as the TDP MLAs Yarapatineni Srinivasa Rao, GV Anjaneyulu and MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumar are also planning to launch fast in the city Monday.

Speaking to Express over the phone, Guntur Urban SP BV Ramana Kumar, said that permission was not granted to both the TDP MLAs and YSRCP leader Vijayamma to launch their agitation at public places.
