Medak MP and the former TRS leader M Vijayashanti lambasted the pink party for its ‘backstabbing’ ways.

Speaking for the first time on TRS leadership suspending her from the party following her meeting with AICC top leaders, Vijayashanti made serious allegations against TRS. “Unable to digest my political growth, other leaders in TRS had ‘backstabbed me and waited for my death’,” she said in an emotionally chocked voice.

The MP, who participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony in Medak, for the railway line from Medak to Akkanapet in the district, said her visits to her Medak constituency for participating in welfare and development programmes was not were not welcome by the TRS leaders and some had even threatened her not to visit Medak.

“They are afraid and insecure that my growing popularity with Medak people would hinder their political chances, and they plotted against me to see that I was ousted from the party,” she said.

Indirectly hitting at TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao and his family, she said there are some who are amassing wealth and properties, which will last for several generations to come. “The need of the hour is sincere politics with moral and ethical values. I will always distance myself from politics intended to amass riches and power,” she said.

The foundation stone for the new railway line was laid by women and child welfare minister V Sunitha Laxma Reddy, who hails from the district. Speaking on the occasion, she said the new railway line will propel growth in the region further.
