After learning that Ananthalakshmi was desirous of adopting a child, the couple contacted her. Ananthalakshmi told the parents that she wanted to send the baby to her issueless brother.

Ananthalakshmi paid Rs 10,000 to Bhavani and Ashok after reaching an agreement with them.
