BELGAUM: I am a BJP man now and will remain in the BJP, said Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti. He was reacting to BJP state president K S Eshwarappa’s statement on Sunday that the party will think before giving B-form those who migrated in to the party, in the next general election.
After launching Sakala scheme at Belgaum City Corporation, Katti, who joined BJP from JD(S) in Operation Lotus, said that he joined the BJP four years ago and has now become a BJP person.
At a function on Sunday, Eshwarappa said that those who migrated into the party had been creating troubles and had become a headache to the party. Katti has identified himself in Yeddyurappa group in the state BJP. He questioned the party president’s intentions in making such statements.
It may be recalled that Katti and Minister for Municipal Administration Balchandra Jarkiholi had left JD(S) and joined BJP.
However, Jarkiholi is opposing Yeddyurappa, who was instrumental in the disqualification of Jarkiholi and 14 others from the Assembly.
