MYSORE: A leopard, which was giving sleepless nights to the villagers of Ramanahalli in HD Kote taluk, finally fell into the trap placed by Forest Department on Monday. The villagers, who found the animal inside the cage kept in a farm belonging to one Mahesh, informed the officials, following which it was shifted to N Begur forest range of Bandipur National Park.
The cage was placed a month ago after the villagers complained that a leopard had attacked some cattle, besides mauling some dogs.
Elephant Calf Rescued
Koluvige villagers of Hunsur taluk rescued an elephant calf which had strayed into their village after being separated from its mother on Monday. The villagers handed it over to the Forest Department. It was shifted in a goods carrier auto to AM elephant camp.
