BANGALORE: The all-party meeting to be held here on Thursday is likely to decide on waiving farm loans availed through the cooperative banks in the backdrop of severe drought in most parts of the state.

The meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will take stock of the drought relief works taken up by the state government besides eliciting suggestions, if any, from the opposition parties.

The meeting will also finalise the date for leading an all-party delegation to the Centre to press for assistance to tackle the drought.

The state government has already submitted a memorandum seeking `2,606 crore for undertaking relief works in the state.

Apart from drought, issues like amendment to Article 371 of the Constitution to provide special reservation to people from Hyderabad-Karnataka region of the state in education and employment, increase in the import duty on raw silk from 5 to 35 per cent will also come up in the meeting.
