KOLAR: Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda today asserted his government has released sufficient funds to tackle the drought situation in the state, rejecting opposition charge of non-release of funds.
"There is no shortage of funds for drought relief works.
The government has accorded top priority for providing drinking water", he told reporters after visiting some of the scarcity hit villages in Kolar district.
He directed officials to sink borewells and ensure power connection to them.
Gowda said the issue of writing of farmers loans will be considered after he lead an all-party delegation to the Centre seeking financial assistance for drought relief works.
