BANGALORE: After a meeting between the representatives of unions and officials of various transport corporations on Wednesday, the union leaders decided to call off the strike, which was scheduled to start from Friday.

The strike was called off since the management agreed partly to the demands of the unions.

It was stated that wage revision would be considered after consultation with the unions. The management also agreed to have monthly meetings in which employees could bring out their grievances like work overload, bribe demands and more.

KSRTC managing director Manjunath Prasad welcomed the development after a tradition of unilateral decisions taken by KSRTC management.

“They can help us by pointing out cases of improper working conditions as these monthly meetings will be like watchdogs,” he said
