BANGALORE: Senior leaders of state Congress, including Leaders of Opposition in the Legislature - Siddaramaiah and Motamma - and KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, met here on Friday.

Sources said the meeting was also attended by AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry and AICC secretary Shantharam Naik among others; they deliberated over issues to be debated upon at Saturday’s KPCC general body

meeting.

Addressing the Media, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said that over 40 senior leaders from state Congress discussed strategies to be adopted to galvanize the party ahead of the elections. “The meeting will set the party’s wheel of fortune in motion; there is a strong wind of anti-incumbency blowing in Karnataka,” he said.

The meeting will also be attended by Union ministers S M Krishna, Veerappa Moily, Mallikarjuna Kharge and K H Muniyappa.

The failure of the state government and achievements of the UPA government at the Centre will come up for discussions on Saturday’s meeting, he added.
