BANGALORE: Terming the Speaker’s decision to conduct a probe an eyewash, the Opposition parties — Congress and JD(S) — demanded the disqualification of the erring former ministers. “Do you need a mirror to look at the wound on your palm? When the three former ministers have admitted that they had watched the porn-clip, what more evidence does the Speaker need? What is there to investigate?” Siddaramaiah, Opposition Leader in the Assembly asked, after the Assembly was adjourned sine die. “The act of the ministers is a non-bailable offence under the IPC. The Speaker should suspend them immediately and book a criminal case against them,” he demanded.

He also took serious objection to Speaker K G Bopaiah’s inaction against the ruling party members for stalling the proceedings of the House. “The Speaker cannot express his inability. If he cannot conduct the House properly, he should step down immediately,” Siddaramaiah added.
