BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Thursday conducted raids on the residences of Congress MLA M Krishnappa of Vijayanagar constituency and his son Priya Krishna, MLA of Govindaraj Nagar constituency, following a complaint filed in the Lokayukta Court. The raids were conducted on the two residences in Vijayanagar and on the office of Sri Lakshmi Narasihma Enterprises at Palace Road.

Lokayukta police have seized Rs 7.1 lakh cash, 8 kg of silver, one kg gold and 20 maps of housing colonies. The title deed of a property at RPC Layout, bank account details and other documents have also been confiscated.

The Lokayukta Court had ordered a probe on January 16 into the private complaint against Krishnappa by advocate H C Prakasha alleging that his family had amassed wealth to the tune of Rs 700 crore disproportionate to their sources of income.

An FIR was registered on January 30 and the MLA was booked under Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The residence of Ashok Gowda, a relative of Krishnappa, was searched and documents — pertaning to windmills and Mercedes Benz cars were also seized.
