KOLAR: A person was killed and nearly thirteen were injured in a bull race that took place in Dhulapalli Village of Mulbagal taluk of Kolar District on Sunday.

The sources said that the deceased has been identified as Subramani (32) of Pedda Bommanahalli of Shanthipuram, Kuppam Mandal of Andhra Pradesh.

The injured are Narayananswamy, Raghupathi, Ganesha, Kumar, Nagaraj, Jayanna and others.

They are being treated in various hospitals.

Unlike the Jellikattu in Tamilnadu, where youths catch the bulls and win prizes, here the bulls and oxen are allowed to run freely.

The prizes are distributed to the owners of the fastest bulls and oxen.

DSP Rajanna said that the deceased Subramani was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.

The Police registered a case.
