BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Police on Thursday conducted raids on the residences and offices belonging to the friends, relatives and business partners of BJP MLA SR Vishwanath of Yelahanka, following a private complaint.

Vishwanath is accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income and misuse of public office.

Six premises were raided. Twenty asset deeds under different names, 13 bank accounts and three four-wheelers were seized from Somashekara Reddy, relative of the accused.

As many as 23 asset sale deeds worth Rs 2.1 crore in the name of Ramalinge Gowda, four sale deeds in different names, three fourwheelers, a wine shop and two bars, 1.47 kg gold and 13 kg silver were seized.

Documents pertaining to partnership of a petrol bunk in the accused wife’s name, and 10 bank accounts related to the same have also been seized.

Five asset sale deeds in different names and two cars were seized from a friend of the MLA. Raids continued at an office belonging to Gowda.
