BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by H D Balakrishne Gowda, former KAS officer and son of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, who sought to quash the FIR filed by Lokayukta police in connection with the disproportionate assets case filed against him.

The order has paved the way for the Lokayukta sleuths to continue investigation into the case. Justice N Anand, who heard the petition, observed that it was not appropriate to quash the FIR and proceedings in the lower court as the allegations pertained to corruption. Dismissing the plea, he also directed Gowda to cooperate with the investigating agency.
