BANGALORE: Home Minister R Ashok said that the government is keen on reserving two per cent of jobs in the Police Department for outstanding sportspersons.

   He was speaking after inaugurating the Karnataka State Police Annual Sports Meet held at KSRP Grounds in Koramangala on Wednesday. “Also, in-service policemen who bring accolades to the state at national and international sporting events should be given promotion,” he said. Welcoming his statement, DG&IGP Shankar Bidari said that the department would finalise a draft in this regard and forward the same to the state by February 15.
