MADIKERI: All preparations are underway to celebrate the 113th birth anniversary of Field Marshal KM Cariappa in a grand manner in Madikeri on January 28, said Major (rtd) B A Nanjappa. He told Express here on Friday that Lt Gen A K Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC General Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Southern Command, Indian Army, and other senior Army Officers will be the chief guests.
Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah, Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy, District Minister Krishna J Palemar, Kannada and Culture Minister Govind Karjol, Karnataka Codava Sahithya Academy president I Rani Machaiah will also be present, he added. Retired armed forces officers namely Lt Gen C N Somanna, Lt Gen B C Nanda among others will attend the event, which is being sponsored by the Kannada and Culture Department and Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy.
