Masti Iyengar Trust Fetes Four Writers

BANGALORE: In remembrance of the veteran Kannada litterateur Masti Venkatesh Iyengar, four Kannada writers were felicitated for their stories and novels by the Dr Masti Venkatesh Iyengar Trust

BANGALORE: In remembrance of the veteran Kannada litterateur Masti Venkatesh Iyengar, four Kannada writers were felicitated for their stories and novels by the Dr Masti Venkatesh Iyengar Trust here on Friday.

While K Sathyanarayan’s Naxal Varase received a cash prize of `10,000, Kade Gude written by Sharath Kalkod, Krishan Mruga by Usha Narashima and Belaku Banthu by Girija Jakapura were all awarded cash prizes of `25,000.

Later, speaking on the occasion after the presentation of the awards to the writers,  Manu Baligar, Commissioner of Kannada and Culture Department, said that  his department will extend  all support for the construction of a Masti Pratistana on the land granted to it in the      city by the Bangalore Development Authority.
