‘457 persons to be deputed for Zoo posts’

MYSORE: Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) officials have sent Cadre and Recruitment Rules Report to the state government for the deputation of 457 persons for various posts under ZAK.

Zoo executive director B P Ravi told reporters on Monday that around 247 posts are meant for animal keeper, forest guard, watcher, assistant animal keeper and sweepers, besides 12 veterinary doctors and two deputy directors.

The existing staff of the Zoo, including security staff, is 250 and the jobs of only 78 staff have been confirmed.

After the implementation of C&R, 160 designation posts will be confirmed in Mysore Zoo, 208 in Bannerghatta Biological Park, 28 at Lion and Tiger Safari in Shimoga, 14 at Gadag Zoo, 10 at Bellary Zoo, 11 at Gulbarga and Belgaum Zoos, seven at Davangere Zoo and eight for the MS office.
