BANGALORE: The state government’s ambitious programme of providing quality service in time, which will be launched on a pilot basis on Thursday, has been named Sakala (in time).

Law Minister S Suresh Kumar said here on Wednesday that the name was chosen by a three-member committee from a lot of 1,506 proposals which the government had received from the public. “Similarly, the slogan for the programme — selected from 1,095 proposals — is Indhu Naaleh Innilla, Helidha Dhina Thappolla (no more todays and tomorrows, will not fail the day mentioned).” Suresh Kumar added.

According to the minister, the logo is a clock which shows the time as 10.10 and from the middle of the clock comes a court hammer.

“The logo is significant. It means that people can exercise their right for quality service in stipulated time.” The minister added that the logo was selected from about 710 suggestions.

CM D V Sadananda Gowda will launch Sakala in the BBMP revenue office in Jayanagar on Thursday; simultaneously the pilot project will be inaugurated in Bidar by Revu Naik Belamagi, in Chitradurga by Anand Asnotikar and in Dharwad by Jagadish Shettar.

He added that the Karnataka Government Employees’ Association has volunteered seeking computer training for staff to make the project effective.
