BANGALORE: The house committee constituted to probe into the sleazy clip episode involving three former ministers will submit its report before the commencement of the upcoming budget session.

“The Speaker has set the deadline of March 13, but we are contemplating to submit the report on March 19 or 20,” committee head Gadag MLA Shrishailappa Bidarur told reporters after the third sitting of the committee here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the committee is reportedly decided to issue notice to the three former ministers — Lakshman Savadi, C C Patil and Krishna Palemar — asking them to reply before March 8, the date on which the committee’s next meeting is scheduled.

Continuing with its interrogation of news channels which aired the sleazy clip episode, the committee in today’s meeting questioned the representative of a leading regional news channel.

The committee reportedly posed five questions to the media representative with stress on the Cable TV Act which says that no porn content should be aired.

“Doesn’t your organisation know about this Act,” the committee questioned.

Other members of the committee Sureshgowda, Nehru Olekar and S R Vishwanath were among the others present in the meeting.
