UDUPI: The BJP state government has failed to uphold the honour of the Legislature, alleged Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramiah.

Speaking here prior to a door-to-door campaign in a Dalit colony in Kadubettu here, he said: “In the case of disqualification of some independent MLAs, the Supreme Court passed strictures against the Speaker. This had never happened before in the state. In the porngate scandal, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda is bent on protecting the the guilty MLAs. Over 11 ministers in the Cabinet, accused of rape, illegal mining and land grabbing, had to quit.”

“BJP leaders who speak of development should know that during their rule not even an extra unit of power was generated. Though they announced a power project in Chhattisgarh, it failed to take off. In addition, there has been a shortage of 500 electric tranformers.”
