BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday dismissed a criminal petition filed by former minister D Sudhakar seeking to quash the FIR against him. The court adjourned a similar petition by former minister Krishnaiah Setty.

Justice N Anand dismissed the criminal petition by Sudhakar stating that it bears no merit and is liable for dismissal.

Setty and Sudhakar are both charged with fraud and facing charges of obtaining loans by submitting fake documents.

The CBI had filed an affidavit stating that Setty wilfully used forged documents, with the help of then chief manager of SBM, MTV Reddy, and cheating the bank to the tune of `7.17 crore.
