BANGALORE: Murugharajendra Sharanaru of Bruhan Mutt, Chitradurga, Shivamurthy Swamiji, and other seers from various mutts are planning to observe a fast between 10 am and 1 pm, on March 13 at Freedom Park in Bangalore to put an end to the deadlock between advocates, journalists and police. Addressing a news conference here on Monday, pontiffs from various mutts said the need of the hour was to ease out animosity between police, press and advocates, who are at loggerheads.

Sri Shantaveera Swamiji defended Bangalore City Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji and DG&IG Shankar Mahadev Bidari and said, “Police officers have done a good job. As a result of their presence of mind, no loss to life occurred on that day. We condemn the attacks on media persons, we would demand suspension of advocates who attacked the media persons, if they are found guilty. A detailed probe is necessary.” Murugharajendra Swami said he wasn’t sent by anybody.
