‘Time still left for BSY’s BJP campaign’

The housing minister scotched rumours that the ex-Karnataka CM won’t campaign for the party candidate in the LS bypoll.

BANGALORE: ‘Scotching rumours that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will not campaign for the party candidate in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha byelection, Housing Minister V Somanna said that they have received instructions from the former to work for the success of the BJP nominee.

   A confidant of the former chief minister, Somanna said that five days still remain for campaigning when Yeddyurappa will tour the Lok Sabha constituency. He added: “There is no doubt over the victory of our party. His success is guaranteed.”

He informed that the BJP has a strong base in the LS constituency which was vacated by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. Dismissing reports that he had campaigned against the BJP during his previous visit to the constituency, he said: “The allegations are baseless.”
