HUBLI: Samaja Parivartana Samudaya (SPS), which had filed an Interlocutory Application (IA) with Central Empowered Committee (CEC) constituted by Supreme Court, over the alleged nexus among corporate, miners and politicians, welcomed the committee’s decision to conduct a hearing on March 20.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, SPS founder president S R Hiremath said, “The CEC’s decision to hold the hearing is a welcome step and it would be a turning point. The SPS submitted its IA on January 16, 2012.”

For the hearing, CEC invited JSW Steel Ltd, Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), Government of Karnataka and also IA petitioner S R Hiremath as the representative of SPS.

He also demanded an CBI enquiry into the activities of JSW Steel Ltd and Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) who allegedly gave money to former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.
