BANGALORE/HYDERABAD: More than a month after the disappearance of a Wipro employee from Bangalore in the city, Hyberabad police recovered the remains of the techie’s body on Thursday. Bachu Satish (24), son of autorickshaw driver Shankaraiah of Ramagundam, was throttled to death, his body was set on fire twice and the remains were dumped in a drain. His lady love is one of the five accused. Two of the accused were arrested and the others are at large. According to police, Satish developed online friendship with an engineering student, Lavanya of Borabanda, and the two started meeting often. Lavanya’s father Yadaiah, however, threatened Satish to put an end to the relationship, police said.

On February 1, Satish came to Hyderabad on way to Warangal to attend a marriage. “He met his friend Mahender and left for Warangal. Getting no calls from him after that, his parents lodged a complaint on February 4,” police added. As Satish continued his relationship with Lavanya, Yadaiah and his family decided to “eliminate” him. Knowing that Satish was in the city, they asked Lavanya to call him to Big Bazaar at Ameerpet. Lavanya was accompanied by her cousin Sravan, who informed her mother Manikyam of Satish’s arrival. Manikyam, in turn, alerted Yadaiah.

Yadaiah went there in a car along with a friend, P Rajeshwar Goud. The duo forced Satish into the car and asked Lavanya and Sravan to return home. Satish was throttled to death inside the car. They took the body to Kokkanda village where they hid it on a hillock. Then, they burnt the body with some petrol and diesel.

“Later, they told Lavanya and others that they had killed Satish. After two days, the duo went back to the hillock and burnt down the remains of the body to ashes, collected it in a plastic bag and dumped it in a drain pit,” the police said.

Police arrested Yadaiah and Goud on Thursday. Lavanya, Manikyam and Sravan are at large.
