CHIKMAGALUR: With the Congress and JD(S) lacking agents in polling booths, the two parties have lost all self-confidence, said BJP general secretary C T Ravi.

He told reporters here on Saturday that the  Opposition parties’ efforts to spread canard about Yeddyurappa abstaining from the campaign had failed following the former CM’s clarification that he had reasons for doing so and had even prayed at the Vaishno Devi shrine for the success of BJP candidate Sunil Kumar.

“Yeddyurappa has exhibited his loyalty to the party by stating that Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will present the budget. The BJP will break all records by winning in all the eight Assembly segments.”

Meanwhile,  District JD(S) president H H Devaraj condemned BJP’s attempts to level false allegations against Congress and JD(S) and accused the administration of bias while filing cases on model code of conduct violation.“The police were eager in filing an FIR against me and Pooja Gandhi despite us not misusing the inspection bungalow; the deputy commissioner got the FIR copy within half an hour of registering the case at the instance of MLA C  T Ravi,” he said. Devaraj, while appealing to the election commission to post police from other districts, said that election observers acted like RSS agents and police vans are allegedly used for distribution of money to voters.
