BANGALORE: Forest Minister C P Yogishwar said the government is committed to implementing the Paramashivaiah Committee Report, which suggests providing Bhadra water to Kolar, Chikballapur and Bangalore Rural districts.
Intervening in a discussion on an issue raised under Rule 68 by Opposition Leader Motamma and others in the Legislative Council, the minister added that CM D V Sadananda Gowda has earmarked `400 crore for the project.
In a separate motion, Motamma raised the issue of the Tamil Nadu government’s petition to apex court seeking ban on raising summer crops in Cauvery basin. She urged the government to take measures to protect the interests of the farmers.
