CBI raids on offices, homes of BEML staff

BANGALORE: As part of the ongoing probe into the Tatra vehicle scam, sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted simultaneous raids on the offices and residences of some BEML officials, on Friday. Sources said that CBI sleuths seized some documents and computer hard discs during the raids.

Teams of CBI officials conducted raids simultaneously on BEML Corporate Office located in Sampangiramanagar, Rail Coach Division in CV Raman Nagar, and other offices in Mysore and KGF. At the same time, the houses of a few senior officials of the public sector unit were also raided. It is said that some important documents, financial transactions and documents  related to projects were recovered, besides seizing computer hard discs from their residences.

The documents would help the probing agency to gather important details on financial transactions, sources confirmed. BEML Chairman and Managing Director V R S Natarajan, is the prime accused in the case and hence the raids were conducted on the offices and residences of officials of BEML.
