KPSC examinations get High Court green signal

The High Court on Friday recalled a stay on conducting Karnataka Public Service Commission exams to start recruitment to group C and D posts, including Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS).

The stay was recalled after the state government submitted that it has resolved to adopt Centre’s rules on providing reservation for differently abled persons in group C and D categories.

On August 9 the High Court had stayed the KAS main examinations and other recruitment process initiated by KPSC following allegations that no reservations were being allotted for differently-abled person.

Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna, recalled the stay order after the counsel for KPSC submitted that there is a need to continue the examination process as it is  in the interest of public and to avoid accumulation of posts.

The Bench further directed the state government to complete the exercise within six months from Friday.
