A state legislature committee on Scheduled Castes and Tribes headed by MLA P M Narendraswamy took stock of utilisation of funds for the upliftment of the SCs/STs by various departments.
He said that heads of the Social Welfare and other departments have been asked to furnish details on money spent on various schemes.
He said there were 653 cases of fake certificates obtained to secure government jobs of which 545 cases have been solved. And about 25 cases are still under investigation.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked officials to plug the revenue leakage and put in efforts to collect more revenue. He was reviewing progress of the commercial tax department in the last three months. Minister H Anjaneya was present.
