Krishna sends notice to corporator

Former external affairs minister S M Krishna sent a legal notice to Yediyur ward corporator N R Ramesh for causing extreme anguish to him by making baseless allegations. This comes in the wake of the alleged sale of properties owned by the HMT.

In the notice sent through advocates of S A Partners, Krishna has asked Ramesh to “pay Rs 5 crore as compensation for the damages, and publish an unqualified apology prominently in all the dailies and news channel across the country, within seven days.” Krishna’s advocates have threatened to initiate legal proceedings against Ramesh for defamation or to sue him for damages, if he does not pay the compensation within seven days.

The advocates said the allegations made by Ramesh were false, baseless and were made with an intention of defaming Krishna. This, they said, had caused extensive trauma and agony to him.
