Toy train driver arrested

The driver of the ‘Putani rail,’ a toy train which claimed life of 12-year-old Shubham Kalal recently, was arrested by the suburban police on Sunday.

Basavaraj Kiresur (40) of old Hubli, has been accused of rash driving, resulting in the derailment of the train which injured Shubham. The victim succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

Meanwhile, the district unit of the Federation of Backward Classes submitted a memorandum to DC Sameer Shukla demanding compensation to the family of the deceased.
