Siddaramaiah hopes to fight from Varuna constituency

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said that he would seek reelection to the Varuna Assembly seat which he had won in 2008.

“I did not apply for a party ticket to the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee , but it does not mean that I will stay away from fighting the elections,” he told Express.

Siddaramaiah said that he had never applied for a ticket seeking a party symbol.It may be recalled that 2,175 aspirants have applied to the KPCC for tickets, including KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, former Union minister C K Jaffer Sharief, deputy leader of opposition in the Assembly T B Jayachandra and others, when last date for submission of applications ended on January 31, 2013. Siddaramaiah, former Union minister Ambarish and sitting MLA Dr Sudhakar are among those who have not submitted their applications to the KPCC.
