Government dragging feet on prosecuting officer

The state government has yet to give its order even two years after the Lokayukta Police sought sanction for prosecution of IAS officer M K Baladeva Krishna.

The Lokayukta police had raided the premises of Baladeva Krishna (presently Commissioner for Youth Services and Sports) during his tenure as MD of Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation, Bangalore. The police had written to the government more than thrice (latest on March 2012) requesting sanction for prosecution, according to a Lokayukta official. “The government had sought some clarification and we submitted it long back. We are still waiting for the sanction letter,” said Lokayukta ADGP H N Sathyanarayana Rao.

It may be noted that another case against the same officer for dereliction of duty during his tenure as Kodagu DC, is up for hearing on Wednesday.
