A minor was allegedly raped by an autorickshaw driver under Vidyarangyapuram police station limits here on Tuesday. The accused Raju allegedly raped the 16-year-old girl after promising to marry her. He took her to Bangalore on Friday when she was alone at her house in Jyothi Nagar, where he raped her.
Her parents have lodged a missing person complaint. Raju absconded after he left the victim at her house on Saturday.
Doctor too misbehaved
The victim was sent with constable Sugunavathy to the Cheluvamba Hospital for medical examination where Dr Manjunath allegedly misbehaved with both the victim as well as the constable.
Sugunavathy said that she would lodge a complaint against him.
Hospital Superintendent Dr B Krishnamurthy said that he would take action on the complaint lodged by the victim as well as the constable. Medical examination was done by another doctor, he added.
Youth held for molesting minor
Hassan: Police arrested college student Mallesh (25) on Monday for allegedly molesting a minor at Yalagatavalli village at Arkalgud taluk recently.
According to the police, Mallesh allegedly kidnapped the minor and took her to Bangalore where he sexually harassed her. Police had registered a missing case following a complaint by her parents.
Based on specific information, police rescued the girl from a house in Bangalore and admitted her to a Child Welfare Centre in Hassan. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
Eve teaser roughed up, dies
Hassan: A youth who was roughed up for eve teasing recently succumbed to injuries on Tuesday. According to sources, Dilip (24) of Jumbur village in Sakleshpur taluk, often tried to talk to a college student from the same village despite strong opposition from her parents.
The village heads had even warned him a couple of months ago. Following a complaint by the girl, her relatives assaulted Dilip on the outskirts of the village three days ago.
He was undergoing treatment at Hettur Government Hospital where the doctors reportedly advised him to go to NIMHANS on Monday. Dilip who had multiple injuries on his forehead and chest succumbed on the way to Bangalore on Tuesday.
